New Blog, what what?
And it's all about how you care about foreign policy because you love a military family.
Happy Monday from way past my bedtime over here in Germany! Today’s post is all about the basic’s of foreign policy. Getting tired of foundational information posts? Me too, kinda (except not really, I love this shit). But the truth is, these building blocks are super important for the meat and potato blog posts that are coming next. It’s really tough to talk about policy from a place of impact without a fundamental understanding of definitions, function, and institutions.
So here’s what we cover:
What is foreign policy?
Objectives
Importance
Challenges
Current Foreign Policy Issues
+ a couple other important things.
So why do you care? Well first and foremost, if you are reading this newsletter you probably already know that we are a military family, and by proxy that means our life story is entrenched in foreign policy. So if you dig our story, you kind of have to care a little bit about foreign policy. But the other reason is that if you have ever eaten garlic bread, complained about the price of lumber, called Jeffery Epstein a “perv,” decided to cut back on meat because you saw Seaspiracy, purchased an item marked ‘made in China,’ taken a plane to somewhere far far away to drink wine you can’t pronounce, or loved a soldier, you guessed it…you care A TON (and way more than you probably realize) about foreign policy.
WHICH IS FREAKING COOL, I might add. Click the button to learn more.
Since we won’t see each other until next Monday, here’s a little rundown.
Clicking the following buttons earns you extra brownie points because small writers need all the good juju they can get.
